Facts on Marigold and its growth?

First of all, Marigold flowers do not need high maintenance because they are less affected by pests and insecticides and we can prevent them from catching these diseases through pouring some water on them. Other than that, Marigold flowers have 14 Petals, usually having single blossoms but they look like big round balls and since most of their petals are Golden in color, the petals gather together like big Golden pompoms.

The name Marigold is basically associated with the number 7 when it comes to numerology. Colors of Marigold include mahogany, ivory, and a different mixture of shades.

There are two types of Marigold flowers, the first one is tagetes and the second one is calendula. Calendula can be eaten and have many herbal uses. When we talk about tagetes they are poisonous and therefore, cannot be eaten. Other than that, Marigold are easy to grow which is why many gardeners prefer it; They can survive in lots of heat but to ensure its proper growth and to see that it keeps on blooming beautifully, the soil should be well-drained and there should be enough water for it to grow, but you should keep in mind that you can not over Water the flower otherwise, it will affect its growth.

Marigold was popular throughout the ancient times when it was used from treating health issues to manufacturing cosmetics. Also, it is also said that the strong scent of Marigold actually keeps all the pests and insects away from the flowering Gardens. As a result, a pot of marigold in the window of your house will probably keep all the mosquitoes away.

What does the color of Marigold represent and it’s meaning?

Since Marigold is mostly yellow and orange in color, it actually represents the sun and the light. Marigold also has an intensive color which represents strong emotions and creativity. It is also believed by some people that this Marigold flower is a symbol of being cruel, harsh, and of jealousy. It’s dark and bright orange color represents beauty and because Marigold is usually seen in sunny colors, we associate it with success and optimism.

Marigold as herb or medicine?

Marigold flowers are antibacterial which play the main role to cure the pain caused by bee stings. In addition to it, these flowers can be manufactured to produce poultice which people apply if the skin gets burnt or infected (apart from Bee sting). Lastly, children or adults, who are suffering through tuberculosis (of the lymphatic glands)  have Marigold leaves as vegetables because this is seen as the best remedy to cure this!
